God's Goodness to Me

During my devotional this morning, it said to make a list of the good things God has done for you in the past. Remembering God's past acts of goodness in our lives is a great way to build our faith. It shows us when and how he came through for us in the past. Most of these things are journaled somewhere on paper. But I thought I would share a few things here. I hope it encourages you in whatever season you might find yourself in.

God's goodness in guiding me to himself-first and foremost at the age of 26. This is where I accepted his forgiveness, and decided to begin surrendering my will and life to him.
God opened the doors of opportunity for me with a great company and a great job.
God planted me in a great church with friends, and a great pastor.
God led me to resign from that company in 1995 and go onto the mission field. There he opened my heart to others and to a much bigger picture. (Wow, it's not all about me.)
God led me to my husband in 1996.
He opened the doors of opportunity for us with a part time business. (Over the course of the next few years we would earn over a quarter of a million dollars part time.)
In late 1999 he led us from Central Texas to move to Nashville, Tn.
In April of 2000 I gave birth to a beautiful boy.  Peyton (After being told I would probably never have children.)
God led us to buy a great home in the Nashville area, and provided for us there.
He gave us a great church there.
In 2001, he blessed us with a beautiful baby girl. (Lexi.)
In 2005 he led us to move to Beautiful East Tennessee, here He saw fit to increase us. We retired a lot of debt. We doubled the square footage of our home, my husband was blessed greatly with his new job, and I was fortunate to be able to stay at home and be the wife and homeschool mom I always wanted to be.)
He led us to a great church, and a great homeschool community.
This year he opened a second door of opportunity for us. It has been great so far. I know God is doing great things in and through our lives. Living lives of passion and purpose, helping others to attain a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, better health and also better finances.

I am blessed indeed.

I have to say that in the midst of all this goodness, there were trying times. There were sad times, there were bad days. But God came through and walked with us through each and ever situation and today I am stronger because of it.

Plan B-Trifle

Sometimes the best made plans go wrong. That is what happened to me on Friday. Once a month we have a ladies craft fellowship. We all bring a dish or dessert to share. Well I had found this fabulous recipe I was so excited to try.
When I went to take the cake out. I used a knife to loosen the edges around the outside, and forgot about the inside. (It had been a while since I had used a bundt pan.)
So the result of the flip was a broken cake and half of it was still stuck in the pan.
Needless to say, I was pretty bummed out. But a thought occurred to me....I had made trifles before-so I could just use the cake and add some pudding and whipped cream. So I rummaged through my pantry for something that might go with Butter pecan. I found some Pumpkin Spice Instant Pudding Mix and decided that would be the filling.
So I added 2, 4 oz. packets of the Pumpkin Spice pudding mix and 3 cups of almond milk. (Since the kids drink our whole milk-and I didn't want to use up their milk for the next morning.) Then I added 2 cups of whipped cream to the mixture. I layered cake crumbs, pudding mixture, cake crumbs, pudding mixture, cake crumbs and then just plain whipped cream as a topper. (Since I was out of the pudding.) I badly wanted to add heath toffee bits to the top-but I was out. So I used cinnamon chips instead.
Everyone said "it was great", even non trifle likers, liked this version. So Plan B didn't turn out so bad. But I still missed out on Plan A. I have to say that what was in my mind was a nice dessert, and not quite so sweet. While this trifle was yummy, it was very sweet, and I couldn't really eat much of it at all. (I must be losing my sweet tooth, so maybe that is a good thing.)
It really got me to thinking though about God and his plans for us. His plan is Plan A-it is always the best plan. It is the plan that we walk in His light, with His guidance, in obedience. It is his best for us. But so often, we turn to our own way, walking in darkness, choosing our way and not God's way, and we don't seek Him as we should. God is a good God and full of grace. When we cry out-he will return to us-and get us back on the right path. But we have to realize that while God will restore us-we still missed out on a part of the path of plan A. Think of the children in the wilderness. God had a great plan. A plan to free them and take them to the promised land. (He even told them that.) Right after they left Egypt they began to revert to their old non-believing ways. They decided to turn to plan B. (Mumbling, groaning, complaining and unbelief.) God had a straight way planned for them -Plan A. But they chose Plan B. Plan B led them in circles in the wilderness for many years. In the end it turned out okay for the next generation-they finally got to their destination. (But some missed out all together.)
The trifle above is a trifle matter in life. So the cake didn't make, it. I took what I had and I worked with it, and made something else out of it, and it was enjoyed. God can do the same thing with our lives. So, today if your life is topsy turvy-maybe you have allowed yourself to drift from God's plan A, and you find yourself on plan B, cry out to God for mercy, and clarity-and ask him to re-establish your footsteps. We don't have to miss out on the great things God has for us!

Cell Water, Alkaline Water-Balancing the Body

Cell water is another great product from Genesis Pure.  From my understanding of what this product does...It hydrates and oxygenates your body at a cellular level. It has minerals and when you add a few drops to your water it allows those minerals to get into your body and into your cells.  Now I actually take this product in conjunction with the Alkaline water.
Alkaline water helps your body ph levels balance easier. A normal healthy body will try to keep your ph within certain parameters. An unhealthy body will be overly acidic. In order for your body to balance your body -minerals will be taken from various parts of the body to keep your ph balanced. I really didn't understand all this. So I went on youtube to find a video to explain the whole concept of it to me. Here is what I can say about this product, and what it has done for me. (Now there are some disagreements about whether taking products to help alkalize the body or if eating a more alkaline diet is better.) But here is what I will tell you, the most healthy people I know tend to eat more alkaline diets, and use alkaline water. So I decided to give it a try. Here is what I noticed when I combined the cell water and Ph water. I use the cell water once a day. First I fill my water bottle with filtered fridge water, then I spritz about 4 times into the cup since it holds about 20 oz. I add 2/3 a dropper full of the cell water to my bottle once a day. I feel more hydrated throughout the day. I also feel more energized-just overall -not like a burst of energy or anything.
My husband takes the cell water religiously every day and he no longer wakes up with muscle cramps in his legs in the middle of the night. He fishes a lot, and when he fishes he tries to remain hydrated, he is also on his feet all day. So when he would get home and go to bed he would often wake up with bad Charlie horses in his calves. I had researched many times trying to find something that would work to help him. I heard bananas would help, so he would come home and eat a banana, he also tried adding potassium supplements, but neither worked for him. One time in desperation he actually tried apple cider vinegar straight up. (Don't do that at home.) Poor guy-He said it burned his throat and he still had the cramps. But once he began the cell water-those cramps became a thing of the past. He knows for sure it was the cell water-because one night he came in and forgot to take it and had the cramps again. So now he NEVER forgets to take it. Just one dropper full of the cell water with the alkaline water. He uses the alkaline water throughout the day, and I usually do too, but he adds in the cell water just once a day. Great products for great LIFE CHANGING results. I am so glad that he found this product, and now sleeps through the night cramp free!
Disclaimer-I am not a nutritionist, or a doctor, just sharing what these products have done for us. For more information on Ph in the body you can visit.
PH and Cancer -This Dr. actually received a Nobel Prize for his research on cancer prevention.

God Speaks in Many Ways

In my first post "Discerning the Voice of God." I listed some ways God speaks to us. As I have continued studying on this topic I have found other ways that God speaks to us.

I mentioned past changes/circumstance in my last post. Another example I came across was in Egypt. God spoke to the Pharoah-through Moses. Moses was his mouthpiece. But the Pharoah would not listen. So God used circumstances to get Pharoahs attention. So many times, circumstances are used to gain our attention-so we will draw near to him-so He can speak to us.

God speaks through Prayer and fasting- We see examples in scripture where God spoke to people while they were in a state of prayer and fasting. Praying and fasting-sets our flesh down, and many times it helps us hear more clearly. Here we see an example in scripture-In fact the ministry of Paul started after a period of fasting and praying.  “While they were worshipping and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set a part for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them, So after they fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off,”  (Acts 13:2-3).

God speaks through Nature and His Creation-
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above[a] proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.
Their voice[b] goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.

Now even though we realize this isn't literal-The heavens speak in revelation-we cannot literally hear the Heavens above speak to us. But nonetheless-God can speak to our minds through revelation-and it doesn't have to be audible. There are many times that God has shown me something. Maybe I looked at something a certain way-and then God gave me a new revelation in how to see something. Or I was able to see his hand in the matter. This happens a lot when I look back at a situation I can see clearly how God moved. But when I am looking forward I have to walk in faith and trust God.

God speaks through Music. This is probably a big one for me too. Lyrics, often speak to me. It is probably because when I hear something over and over the words get into my spirit. As I sing along, and listen then words get in my soul, and I meditate on them. God speaks to me through movies, through songs, and through his word.

God speaks through his word. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
As I have meditated on God's word in the past, he has revealed things to me about himself, and about my life.

God speaks through other believers.
Listening to parents-elder Christians-Proverbs 1:8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

Psalm 73:30 The godly offer good counsel; they know what is right from wrong. 31 They fill their hearts with God's law, so they will never slip from his path.

Listening to our pastors and the teaching of the word. So many times I go to church, and hear the pastor speak and God uses that to show me things. I remember being very staunch about something I believed and one day in service as the pastor preached, I had a paradigm shift. That which I previously believe-suddenly changed. I left that day-with a changed mind on that subject.  It is wild how 10 people can walk out of the same service but all hear something different, special and unique from that same message. Why, because we are all so unique and we are all different parts of the body, and we have different functions.

I really have to say, that the more I study this, the more excited I have become. I think so many times I think God isn't speaking to me, but when you look at all the ways he does speak to us, just because we aren't hearing an audible word-or maybe even the quiet whisper in our inner spirits daily, God can and will speak to us-if we approach Him in expectation. Expect God to speak to you today, I know I am!

Liquid Cleanse

Genesis Pure Liquid Cleanse. This is another product in our Core system, as part of the philosophy of Genesis Pure-Cleanse, Balance, Build. Over 40,000 clinical hours. This product has been tested on people in a clinic and has proven results. This product helps to eradicate toxins from the body. You can watch a more informative video here.  With the toxic lifestyles we live today, we need this product to help our bodies eliminate toxins!

I also have to mention that my husband got great results with this product. He previously always had problems with his stomach making loud sounds before or after lunch. Since he began this product he no longer has that. A much quieter and happier digestive system.

Goyin -For Daily Balance

In my last post about Genesis Pure, I talked about the Daily Build and the benefits. So you can read that here if you missed it. It is part of the Core system.  I also previously talked about our journey with Genesis Pure and how the products and opportunity have really changed our lives, I can honestly say that I believe that many times God wants to really pour out something special on people, but maybe they really aren't open to how God might show up. So we have to learn to be like the clay-pliable in God's hands and ready when he comes with an answer to prayer that seems different to us.  Thank God we were open to this opportunity and how God brought it to us.  I can tell you that I wasn't actually looking for nutritional products-when I found GP.  I had been praying for an opportunity-I really expected to come in a different way-getting involved in a business with nutritional products never entered my mind.

God has a way of showing up unexpectedly in unforeseen ways. After seeing the presentation- I knew it was an answer to many prayers I had been praying.

The Goyin is the 2nd product in our Core system. Part of the Philosophy of the Cleanse, Balance Build. Which sets GP apart from other companies.

Goyin is a unique formulation of fruits and it come from ancient Chinese Medicine. Go means "Abundant" and Yin means "health".

It's all in the mindset.

Have you ever had something in your mind, and then realized at the last minute-what was in your mind was all wrong? That happened to me this week. I have been very busy over the past few days. We had a field trip that was planned. Well the date got changed, and then it got changed again, but It finally got finalized and set. It was in my calendar correctly. The event was clearly set on Facebook.

But I was busy dealing with my own stuff. I had to deal with the cancellation of a field trip I was organizing, also a Ladies event at our church, along with just juggling our normal family life, routine, dentist appointments and homeschooling.

I happen to be one of those people that sets priorities on when to deal with a matter. So as the week progressed I tackled one event at a time. I got my event cancelled and the people notified. I dealt with the kids, helping them meet deadlines on assignments.  I briefly saw a message about the upcoming Field Trip for today. In fact I even got an email and sent it to my printer. My daughter brought the papers up last night. (I again just glanced at them.)  But I thought-OK that is Friday, So I will deal with that on Thursday. Since I already have stuff to deal with about Thursday. Well guess what-the field trip was for Thursday not Friday. So waiting to deal with it, made us miss out.  Or maybe it  didn't. Maybe it was supposed to happen. I really don't know. I have to say that some good things actually came from us missing the trip today. I did get to spend some extra time studying God's word and learning about how he speaks to us today. I am not worn out, and I have a ladies event tonight.  So I should be ready for it.  The kids weren't terribly distraught either. So maybe we can hit that event next year.

But I wonder, how many times do we miss out on something God has for us, because we have a wrong mindset or we are not open to God. We have preconceived ideas, or maybe we put God in a box on how He will or can work.  Many times in the past I expected God to answer in a different way than he did. And when he answered I was blown away at the way he decided to come through. Other times perhaps God wants us to change course, but we have our mindset-and we are stuck on doing it a certain way, when God has a better way.

Discerning the Voice of God

I just have to share how excited I am about this new Bible study I get to participate in this year. I have never been able to participate in morning Bible studies before-because we homeschool. In the mornings, I am usually in the middle of helping one child with Pre-Algebra and another with fractions.

This year, things worked out different. We began a new co-op and the kids go at 9:00 AM. I drop them and then get to go to the study. Then I return to the co-op in the afternoon to work my required hour. (It really works out well and I am really thankful for it.) It has taken a lot of pressure off of me this year, in helping the kids get the subjects and teaching they need!

Anyway, we are using Phyllis Shriver's Bible study. "Discerning the Voice of God." This week we went through the intro part. First, we see in the scripture that Jesus says "My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me."  This statement-doesn't say he only speaks to some, he only speaks to the leaders. It says His sheep (his people, that are called by His name) hear his voice, He knows them, and they follow Him. So as I got through this study I really hope to learn to discern the different ways God is speaking to me. Listening to God takes practice, and I want to fine tune my ability and also approach God with expectation that He will speak to me.

We were given a sheet and we looked up and wrote down different times, and persons God spoke to, and how He spoke to them. I guess I just never sat down and thought about all the different ways God choses to speak to us. So I will list some that came to my mind here.

God Speaks in Various Ways

God's Audible Voice
Saul on the road to Damascus, Samuel as a boy called by the Lord, At Jesus Baptism, Moses at the Burning Bush, Moses at Mt. Sinai, through a donkey-Baalam, through the prophets to the people, Jesus in the Flesh on earth, Noah

The burning bush, The transfiguration, The baptism of Jesus (he sent a dove), the rainbow, the cross,
parting the red sea, wilderness provision, alter of Baal with Elijah.

This one is really used a lot in the old testament, and we see those that follow God receiving visions, and also interpreting visions of those that God uses-even though they aren't actually following God.
King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel Joseph, John on the Island of Patmos, Paul, Peter, Mary's fiancé -Joseph. Stephen when he was being stoned.

Through the Holy Spirit
Peter Acts 10:19, Paul, Phillip told by the Spirit to baptize the Eunuch. (This is one where I really need to study and find more.)

Unpredictable Past Changes/Circumstances
Jonah, Saul, Joseph in the Well   (I need to look into this one more too.)

I also want to make a list of the different ways God has spoken to me in the past. I think that will be helpful.

So anyway, how does God speak to you? Does He use one method more than others?

Filling the Nutritional Gaps-Daily Build

A couple weeks ago I blogged about a new company I have become involved with. You can read more about that here.  I blogged about how I found Genesis Pure and the opportunity I saw with this company and these products. I was actually involved with another nutritional company at the time and enjoyed their products for 10 years, I did well with the business end-according to what I wanted. I was able to earn over $250,000 with that company during those years.  After seeing the presentation about Genesis Pure, learning about Dr. Lindsay, the products, the opportunity and especially the timing, I decided to resign from the other company and come on board with GP.  There were several reasons I did this-and I will post about that on another day.

Genesis Pure  makes high quality nutritional/health products. These products were formulated in a clinic. One of the things that really sets Genesis Pure apart from other companies is the fact that our founder Dr. Lindsay used these products and formulations with his patients in a clinic for many years. So he has documented over the years how they worked for various clients he had. His clients were among many Hollywood stars-Jennifer Anniston, Demi Moore, also major athletes like Reggie Bush and Tony Dorsett. He has been called into the White House to work with past presidents. His waiting list was 18 months just to get in and see him.  Dr. Lindsay wanted to make these products available to the public-to be able to touch many more lives with these products that supply the nutrients to the body so it can begin to heal itself.  So he shut down his clinic and went to work to make these products available to everyone!

When most companies decide to made a business. They get a marketing group together and get someone to make products for them. But Dr. Lindsay did it different. The products were already being used, he just made them available to more people using Network Marketing as the way to reac people-word of mouth. I love that-and I love that he invests right back into the people that are out there sharing these products every day. Instead of marketing products and putting them in a big company and trading the stocks on the market-the share holders are those who decide to get involved in the business side of GP and earn income.

What I really wanted to share today was a few of the products that I take, and the benefits I have seen from them. Many people ask me what my favorite product is...Well that is like asking me what my favorite food is because I would never want to be limited to just one.

If I had to choose one product that I just could not live without -for me it would the Daily Build.
The name speaks for the product. This product is designed to build the body up with the nutrients it needs on a daily basis. It helps fill in the nutritional gaps-that we don't get through our diets today.

It comes in a bottle or in to go packs. This product is a liquid vitamin, so it gets assimilated into the body within 15 minutes.  It has over 290 vitamins and minerals and 7 super fruits. After a few days of taking this product, I could really tell a difference. My hair is stronger, my nails grow better, and I feel better. ( Prior to this I was taking vitamins in pill form from another company).

As an IBO (Independent Business Owner) with GP, I get a discount on all the products I take. I also earn free product points every month because I voluntarily participate in their auto-ship rewards program. (Which allows me to earn 20% more in free products.) So if you are looking for good quality nutritional products send me an email I would be happy to get you more information on how you can get your own discount on these great products.
