Homeschool Hikers

This summer we started a Homeschool Hiking Group. If you are in our area you can find us here.

I am just adding the link for this hike. We joined our local community group for this one.

 Ijams in Knoxville.
Our Chinese Instructor was able to join us on the trip.
October 2012

The First Hike was Imery's Trail. We also did the Rock Quarry Loop, through the Keyhole.
We took many side trails that weren't on the map too.

After lunch we did the Tharp Trace Trail. This one is more difficult.
Lots of steep grades. My calves are still screaming at me a day later.

View of the Quarry from the trail.

Issac giving Katie a piggy back ride. It is hard to tell in the photo, but this is a pretty
steep grade going uphill. This was the last hill he let her ride, then we were all on our
own trying to make it up.

On the trail.

At the falls.

At a nearby picnic area after the hike.

Our first hike. This was at Panther Creek State Park.
The Ranger had a class on backpacking essentials.
We followed it with a hike on the Old Wagon and Panther Trail.
Then we played in the creek.
